The Love Song of W. E. Miller
Submitted by LacksFocus
Adapted from "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" by T.S. Eliot

Is it the scent of cookies on his breath
That makes me so digress?...

Shall I say, I have gone at dusk through Chicago streets
And watched for the smoke that rises from the cigarette
Of a man in a hoodie, carrying a bookbag?…

I should have been a pair of khakis
Brushing against the skin of warm thighs.
